How do SOCMA members access the database?
SOCMA members and their staff can search the database. Use the same e-mail
address and password that you were provided by the SOCMA Membership department
to access the online member directory. Click here to retrieve this information if you have misplaced it. Click here to
request member access if your company is a SOCMA member and you want to gain access. There is a 5-7 business day processing period while your request is processed.
How do I get listed as a consultant?
Consultants may be listed after submitting an application and paying a fee of $495 per year for an individual consultant, or $2,500 per year for a company, which includes up to 10 individual profiles. After submitting your application and paying the registration fee, you will be sent an e-mail message that welcomes you to the SOCMA CIC website and provides your log-in information. You will then be free to log into the website and edit your profile to describe your consultancy.

Can consultants search the database?
Consultants who have paid a fee to add their profile to the database may also
search the database. Consultants must first register with SOCMA and pay the Consultant's subscription fee (See Above).
How long is my profile displayed?
Subscriptions are for 12 months.
What is the cost for posting my profile?
The cost for an independent consultant is $495 per year. A company with multiple
consultants pays $2,500 per year and can include up to 10 individual profiles.
Do you have to be a member or consultant to search?
You will either have to become a SOCMA Regular Member, SOCMA Affiliate Member or purchase a

company can register with SOCMA and pay the CIC Subscriber's fee of $1000.00 per year per

The message will also provide you with your log-in information. You will then be free to log into the website as a registered user, which provides you with full access to the database information.

Is there any free access?
Website visitors can search the database on a limited basis. Simply click on the Search
button the searching capabilities of this website. You will not be able to see the consultant contact information, but you can see their qualifications and area(s) of expertise.
Can I search the database without becoming a SOCMA member?
Anyone can see a perfunctionary view of the database by going to the search button. This
will allow you to see the breadth of the site and see the type of expertise that is
available. In order to see the complete site along with contact information, you will
either have to become a SOCMA Regular Member, SOCMA Affiliate Member or purchase a
subscription. Subscriptions cost $1000.00 per year per company.
Who actually utilizes this database?
The CIC database was originally created to help optimize the search for consultants for
SOCMA's 270-plus member companies. This service is free to all employees of these
companies. However, other organizations have access to the database for a fee.
What is unique about the CIC?
The CIC is more than just yellow pages for consultants. The individual profiles contain
information about individual background and expertise, recent projects that have been
successful and a list of references. Many databases just list experts in a given field
whereas the CIC profiles experts in numerous professions all within a click of the mouse.
What does the Remember Me option in the Log In area do?
Checking the Remember Me option will store a "Cookie" on your PC system that will save your login information. The cookie information will be retreived on subsequent uses of the CIC website as long as you don't Logout. In other words, the Logout function will clear the cookie from your system. Note that this function will only work if your browser is set to accept cookies.
